For Immediate Release:
October 3rd, 2013 – Gasha debuts her first single “kaki Mbere”. With this record, Gasha marks her arrival to the African and international music scene with a very unique voice and style.
“I am excited about this song. It will resonate with most girls who fall for a guy and will do whatever it takes to ensure the boy is theirs, even if it means arresting him ‘… like a Mbere’”, said Gasha. ” it’s been a lot of hard work, but surrounded by friends, fans, the Steven’s family and especially the indefatigable Dijay Pazzo, I have pressed on to bring this soulful, Afrobeat-inspired record I am sure you will enjoy.”
Gasha (Nga-Ndo ashuembom Amabo) was born March 18,1991 in Douala-Cameroon. She started singing at about 11years old and has since crafted her music after the many artists that influenced her childhood: Tracy Chapman, Sam Cook, Jason Mraz, Richard Bona, Cold Play, Eboa Lotin, Lauryn Hill, Kem, Donny Elwood to name a few. Her music is heavily influenced by Afro sounds but transcends all genres.
“Today is a big day for me as an artist and for my record company, Stvenen’s. We are beginning a journey to revitalize the African music…we call it Music Reloaded. I want to thank my fans who have been waiting for this record for a while. ‘kaki Mbere’ is here and I am excited to have the world enjoy it with me”
To bring the African experience to the world through music. We are dedicated to providing our artists with the best platform to maximize their talents and full exposure to the world.
At Steven’s we believe music is more precious than Gold. Our logo is the “Cassette” which to us symbolizes the musical era we grew up in (80′s and 90′s), when music was at its peak and easily accessible by most. We were born in the 70′s, raised in the 80′s and grew up in the 90′s. We believe the 80′s and 90′s produced some of the best musicians and records the world has ever known and our nostalgia has led us to creating a record label that will capture music in its essence like we came to know it back then.
We were influenced by the likes of Paul Simon, Johny Clegg, Les Têtes Brûlées, Johnny Hallyday, Micheal Jackson, Blacky, Angélique Kidjo, Youssou N’dour, Nayanka Bell, Sam Mangwana, Henri Dikongue, Petit Pays, Boys II Men, Ace of Base, Sade and Bryan Adams just to name a few.
At Steven’s we are going back to the days when music had more soul, more meaning, more rhythm, less noise, less chaos. We bring you music “…to relax your mind so you can be free…to get you in the zone wishing music can adopt you” (Eric Sermon). We are local with international flair. We will tell stories through music and bring the world closer to the African experience. We are winding back the clock to give you MUSIC RELOADED!
